2017: From Early Warning to Early Action

WMO, 2017 – 2018 : From Early Warning to Early Action, Linking climate information to resilience in the Sahel 

Okapi partnered with the World Meteorological Agency and the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) to support the development of a funding proposal for submission to the Green Climate Fund (GCF).  The program foresees the installation and operationalization of a cascading system of climate information services that will provide improved quality, reliability, and coverage of climate information to users in all categories (governments, private sector and local users).  The program is being implemented in 7 Sahelian countries in partnership with other key stakeholders such as UNISDR, World Bank, Red Cross, and UN agencies.
